I wrote this one for a most fierce and loving Woman in my life - my partner, but this recording is dedicated to all the super human Women in my life without whom I literally would not be here on this planet. Not just my mom who I lived inside of for nine months, yes, she is one amongst many more fierce Women who have saved my life in more ways than one!
lyrics
Black River
I carried on - like everyone
Just Keeping it together
There was no when ‘cause in the end
It seemed nothing lasts forever
I couldn’t see the best of me
Had yet to come together
When I’m in my head, seems all is said
Just then it flows in from her
Black river baby
She’s the only one
Black river baby
She knows how it’s done
She is the one who makes everything
Under the sun just plain better
She turned it around so that
I’d be the one to be found in her mirror
Just when you’ve found that solid ground
Theres’s always something further
It comes apart with such great art
We crumble one another
The difference is the way we live
We never paint my number
Somewhere above there’s always love
She never stops to wonder
Black river baby
She’s the only one
Black river baby
She knows how it’s done
She is the one who makes everything
Under the sun just plain better
She turned it around so that
I’d be the one to be found in her mirror
